A couple points of note on continuity: When the Pituitary Gland eating dude "operates" on his second victim, it is in a warehouse in Stoughton, MA (pronounced 'Stow-ton'). A phone call informs us that the body was picked up by Sudbury Police. Sudbury is 30miles and almost an hours drive away. It's possible the body was moved, but unlikely that it would be that far.
Also, at the end of the pilot, when Olivia and Peter chase down the "people melting scientist" dude, it is snowing a decent amount in Southie. It is highly unlikely that there would be no snow in any of the locations in episode 2, especially around Boston College.
First, dreski-o? The snow could have melted. It's been a week, a week without snow could look like this.
And second? When me and a few friends were watching the episode, when they showed the boston federal building letters, one of my friends actually thought that it was an attachment to the building. LOL!
don't forget the "ditton" comment when the lab assistant says where she's from when she says she recognizes the bridge. its dighton(igh=eye in pronunciation). i had a good laugh
Snow doesn't melt that fast in Boston, especially if it's near the holiday season. When they were running through an apartment building someone dropped a box full of christmas lights.
and i have to say, that is pretty funny that someone thought that huge title was attached to the federal building!
Yea lostit, I don't think much of the show was really shot around Boston, I didn't recognize much either. I'm sure it's primarily shot somewhere else (I read on another post that someone thought it looked like Toronto.) The wide exterior shots used for reference are obviously parts of Boston, but the chase scenes must be elsewhere. I don't even think that's really BC.
I know, I'm from the area as well. All the places they've mentioned are real, just some a pronounced incorrectly! And for the most part, the aerial shots of the locations are legit, but some of the ground sequences don't look it.
FYI The Stoughton sequences are no way near true to life. Stoughton is land locked only a few lakes and ponds. No bridge of that size in Stoughton either.
The "Boston Federal Building" in Fringe, where is this building actually located? Because it looks exactly like the Bank of America Tower here in Miami...I didn't know it had a twin...
Looks like the miami building to me... in this past week's episode, there's a night shot showing a SunTrust building in the background - which would match perfectly to the location in Miami
I was interested when I realized Fringe was set in Massachusetts, where I live. It certainly got my attention when they said the body in Stoughton was picked up by Sudbury police seeing as I live in Sudbury and I know Sudbury is nowhere near Stoughton. Sudbury is a half hour from Boston and I go to Chinatown (in Boston) nearly every weekend to go Chinese grocery shopping (I'm Chinese American) and I'm not recognizing much of the skyline shots either.
According to this article: http://www.tv.com/story/12573.html?tag=show;latest_news;title;0 Fringe in shot in New York (the pilot was shot in Toronto). But they are considering going back to Canada in the second season (provided there is one) because of budget issues.
One of the scenes (the last one I believe) in the Pilot was definitely Toronto, the University of Toronto downtown campus in fact. That's my university, and I recognized all the buildings, the big UofT field, and the convocation hall. They film a lot of stuff in TO, I work in downtown so I see movie/show filmings every few days or so.

hahaha, that is good! I must have missed the Dighton comment!
Yeah the seasons changed awful fast.
I was wondering what that lab assistant said. I didn't recognize it as a town andnow I know why!
Also, the car chase scene at the end of the pilot - was that supposed to be in Boston? It didn't look like Boston to me.

Dighton,Ma. is a real town. I live near Boston. It was on the Tv weather last night with the temperture forecast.

FWIW, the building posing as a BC building is not on the BC campus (both the exterior and interior shots).
