When Nina Sharp takes the mysterious disk back to the Massive Dynamic lab, she asks about the progress they have made with John Scott. The Lab technician states "We finally stabilized the link, and we've been pulling information from the disk for the last 72 hours". Does John have a disk implanted in him as well, or are they just downloading his brain?

Fringe Episode 103 - Gun Shot Goof

      Email Post       9/24/2008 12:06:00 AM

When Grant Davidson is shot by Matthew Ziegler at the train station, he is shot on the lower-right side of his torso. However, when Olivia catches up to him, the gun shot appears on his upper-left side. Is this a continuity error, or was there a second shooter on the grassy knoll?

Fringe Episode 103 - The Observer

Who is this bald man, and why is he always lurking around. He was last seen at the hospital. Is this the "observer" that JJ mentioned, and that is mentioned in the opening title sequence with the "Observers Are Here" message?

You can see all of The Observer appearances here.

Fringe Episode 103 - Optical Illusions

      Email Post       9/23/2008 11:04:00 PM

The two optical illusions that Walter shows to the team are the Rotating Snakes, a peripheral drift illusion, and the Duck-Rabbit Illusion, an example of Gestalt psychology.

Speaking of optical illusions, I noticed this Penrose Triangle, also know as the Impossbile Triangle. Could this be what is on the Leaf Symbol? Imagine The Impossibilities!

Fringe Episode 102 - Walter's Numbers

      Email Post       9/17/2008 03:57:00 AM

Walter makes several references to numbers in "The Same Old Story":
  • The combination to his garage lock was 31, 41, 59 - the first six digits of Pi (3.14159)

  • Instead of counting sheep, Walter counts out the Fibonacci numbers - 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55

  • Before Peter begins singing "Row Row Row Your Boat", Walter begins reciting more Fibonacci numbers, though out-of-order - 1, 233, 377, 2, 21, 610

Here are some miscellaneous screenshots: two from Astrid's computer, a piece of evidence, the Claus Penrose bio, a mugshot of 21A, a logo on the wall with the slogan "Pro Patria Et Gloria‎", which translates to "For County And Glory", and some strange neon signs - Peppers, a Clown Hand, and a Dragon.

Fringe Episode 102 - Voces Video

      Email Post       9/17/2008 02:37:00 AM

The one way sign on Barclay St, in front of the Massive Dynamic building, has a sticker covering it which reads "Voces Video", which is Latin for "To See Voices" - a clue to the next episode "The Ghost Network".

UPDATE: There has been some interest in the Barclay St. sign also shown in this photo. This is a standard street sign for that area. Here is some info about the Twin Towers depicted on the sign:
The World Trade Center is remembered in Downtown Alliance street signage. The lower Manhattan business and tourism promotional organization, in the early 2000s, installed black and white street signage designed by Cooper Robertson and Partners, as well as new lightposts and area maps.

Fringe Episode 102 - Cultivating Soldiers

      Email Post       9/17/2008 02:09:00 AM

As Walter falls asleep to the tune of Row Row Row Your Boat, he flashes back to his work "cultivating" soldiers. They all appear to be clones, maybe of Christopher Penrose? Notice the Massive Dynamic logo on the incubators.

Fringe Episode 102 - The Bald Man

      Email Post       9/17/2008 01:39:00 AM

A mysterious bald man is seen standing in the hospital as Broyles, Dunham, Peter, and Walter walk over to see "the grandpa baby". Is the the same man from the Season Previews?

UPDATE: The man is known as The Observer. You can see all of his appearances here.
