Fringe Episode 109: Butterflies

Here are some of the butterfly screenshots from The Dreamscape.

The butterfly theme seems to be the link back to the Fringe butterfly symbol, with its bone wing structure. In the episode, the cuts to Mark Young went down to the bone.

Mark's co-worker Charlotte, who was running the presentation until Mark showed up late, can be seen wearing a butterfly pin. Is this what sparked the hallucination, or was it just his love of butterflies (and a little toad juice)?

Fringe Episode 109: Toads and Frogs

CHARLIE: These frogs... do you think they have something to do with why the guy jumped out of the window?
OLIVIA: Probably not.

With a tip from her dead ex-partner/boyfriend, Olivia finds a storage room where psychoactive toads are being stored. The Bufo Alvarius, or Colorado River Toad, produces poisons - 5-MeO-DMT [2] and bufotenin - that belong to the family of hallucinogenic tryptamines.

The toads shown in The Dreamscape don't quite look Bufo Alvarius, which are illegal in some states. Maybe someone with more toad knowledge will know what kind of toads these actually are.

Origami frogs are also shown in Walter Bishop's lab notes.

The toads are probably the link to the Fringe frog symbol / glyph.

Fringe Episode 109: Oceanic Air

The airline ticket that Mark Young purchased for his Christmas trip to Omaha was made on Oceanic Air. For those not familiar with Lost, Oceanic Air flight 815 is what crashed on that mysterious island.

Interestingly, Lost is now using a new fictitious airlines for the show - Aijia Airways.

Fringe Episode 109: The Observer

The Observer appears at the very beginning of the episode, inside the Massive Dynamic building, hanging out near the elevators.

Here are some various screenshots from St. Claire's Hospital. One interesting drawing on the wall appears to be a six-fingered hand - which is one of the Fringe symbols / glyphs.
