The Observer makes an appearance in Inner Child at the very end of the episode, as the young boy is driven away to his new foster home. The boy senses The Observer's presence and they stare at each other briefly. Do they know each other? Or can they sense each other because they have similar abilities?

I thought they had some kind of communication on some level. There was a recognition by eye contact between the two. The guy from the so called protective services said that "we found another one".Which means that other beings like him(Adult or child?)are out there. Do we know how old the little guy..wasn't it said he had been underground for years with no food or oxygen? But he likes candy for sure.
I'm not sure he ate candies. But, I'm sure that someone saw that in the first episode, in the opening there was written "observers are here", I saw it on youtube, type "secrets and recap" and look at the First episode. So I guess they are many of observers.
Has anyone else noticed the mirroring theme? It has to do with the glyphs being mirrored images, but I also noticed a bit in this episode. In the hospital, Olivia left the notebook on the boy's right side. Cuts to the boy while Olivia was in the hallway showed the notebook on the left side. Then it was back on the right when Olivia reentered. I would have thought it was just an editing mistake (and it very well may be), but it seemed too obvious to be a mistake. And then Peter says that he remembered his GI Joe's scar being on the other side... could it be significant? Is it a clue into Fringe's mythology, or just a coincidence?
Yeah i noticed the notebook thing too, nd the scar on the GI joe that was really obvious the way he said it- im pretty sure it has to do with something
I would go towards a parallel dimesions theory on this guys. Maybe the observers are from this other dimension and possibly by them coming to this reality tends to distort our reality. It would also account for the knowing how to write upside down, He thinks thats right side up.
Also think that his thoughts when played on the machine are backwards and need to be played in reverse to make sense. I am working on finding away to do that.

I recorded the audio from that scene and reversed it. It doesn't sound intelligible to me, and could possibly be in another language, but my ears may not be what they once were :) Maybe someone out there can devote a little more time to deciphering. I wasn't sure if it would be legal to post a link to the audio file I made of the event.
I also recorded the audio using Audacity. If it is english, its not as simple as just reversing the entire clip. My theory is that parts are reversed, some are "inverted" if you can do that, but it would follow with the way the dots in the glyphs are manipulated. After playing for about 15 minutes I was able to hear what appears to be "samuel" and "help" at different segments when reversed. I was also able to confirm that the message does repeat within the scene. If anyone can tell me how to convert ogg/mp3 to something that I can upload I would gladly do so.

I'm personally convinced that the child was the observer and perhaps the observer we all know is actually back from the future. And clearly the observer has some sort of psychic/empathic ability if you remember the episode where peter encountered the observer in the woods and he was able to know what peter was going to say before peter even had a chance to speak. also on the same note maybe that the real reason the observer rescue Peter and Dr. bishop when they feel through the ice when peter was a child.
Maybe this had a 'connection' like the kid and Olivia.
i think that the little guy is an observer but a younger one. The bald guy has been seen for years and hasnt aged. Niether has the litte guy ( from being under ground) the little guy rights up side down and the bald guy rights right to left. The little guy can feel emotions. he can almost read or feel what people are thinking so some extent. the bald guy can do this too but alot better as seen in the episode when he copies everthing peter is saying. maby he is just better cause he is older. what ever the case i believe they are of the same origin. at the end when they see each other i believe they both senced each other. i cant wait to see what happens next!

So does the fact that Peter remembers the scar being on the other cheek mean that this Peter is from the other dimension (or maybe just his memories are). That does explain why there are so many discrepancies between how he remembers his childhood and how Walter remembers it.
The Observer did write in any recognizable language ppl said it was a weird mix of possibly some asian and some shorthand stuff-

ppl commented on how the MAJORITY of the Observers Symbols/ Letter things ARE MIRRORED OF EACH OTHER!! Having reverse/ mirroring is definetely Key in "The Pattern" or some aspect of the pattern

I'm going to go with the 'baby observer' idea when it comes to the kid. He didn't have any hair, he was kinda strange, and that look he and 'grown-up' observer shared totally makes me think he's one of them. What do you guys think?
