The Glyphs code in the Fringe episode Midnight spelled out EIGHT, which the significance of is unknown, but may tie into the larger puzzle as a whole. For more information on the Fringe Glyphs, check out Fringepedia's Glyph / Symbols page, which has all the previous glyphs and codes.

k,good, but what does EIGHT mean? ( i dont think it has to do with it being episode 118- nd the 8 being the last number)
This is kind of silly, but maybe because "eight" rhymes with "ate", as in she ate her victims?
The number eight is symbolic of perfection and completion in various times and cultures(think infinity symbols, eight armed crosses, etc).
How many victims did she have? I think it was 8. Maby that was why.
i thought she could have had 8 victims as well- someone could check
I think I agree with Dennis here. Not because "eight" and "ate" rhyme, but because "eight" and "ate" are pronounced exactly the same.
If you want to get technical... "eight" and "ate" are Homophones.
I think it means nothing and the show's creators are just messing with everyone who will over-think it for the next year simply to get revenge because their code was broken.
What? It's as good a theory as any! :)
ok...check this out....in the previous episode "bad dreams" near the end where the guy takes the gun out of the dresser drawr before leaving....on the top of the droor on the pile of mail there is a deck of cards....one card is flipped up and it's the 8 of clubs. "midnight" had alot of club scenns in it, and also the glyphs in the episode read 8,
-respond to Verde loco
The card shown in Bad Dreams is a SEVEN of clubs, not an eight, so that theory is out...

STILL...it's the 7 of clubs....
Olivia said that eight people had died on previous cases she worked on before she joined the Fringe Division.
It was NINE, not eight. Here's the direct quote:
Olivia Dunham: I'm sorry, but since I've been working in fringe division, 81 people have lost their lives. And that's not including the 147 on flight 627. Now, in my entire career, Only nine people have died on cases that I worked.FYI, transcritps of every Fringe episode are available at Fringepedia.net: http://fringepedia.net/index.php?title=Portal:Transcripts
k- so theres no relevance yet for the 8- but in that quote of Olivia- there has been two accidents where everyone on the plane have died- the pilot episode and "The transformation" i believe thats what it was called
I think it is related to infinity. The symbol is similar to ans "8" but just layed on its side.
Yes, there's been WAY more deaths on Fringe than 81, but maybe Olivia doesn't count everyone - like the people killed by "The Artist".
See The Fringepedia Death Count: http://fringepedia.net/index.php?search=fringe%20death%20count
K, so i fiddled around with numbers(147, 81, nine, nd flight 627- along with 8)- nd this makes no sense but after a while a just ended up subtracting 8 from 118 (the magic number (persay) from the eiposde number) nd obviously i got 110- which is another episode called "SAFE." In the random picture section theres a picture where Olivia is looking at a map- there are numbers circled- lyk 119,113,111, etc. so i decided the ones that match episode numbers i'll check- nd all those ones with matching episodes all deal with ZFT- so maybe its a hint towards the next one dealing with ZFT (by the way i know it sounds lyk i have way to much time on my hands, nd i some weird physco crack addict math genius- well im not- im just weird sometimes)
I still think it has to do with the number of victims. Does anyone know how many she killed?
Maybe it's because of the Magic 8 Ball that Ella gave Olivia in Bound?
lol
good point
but idoubt that they would bring that up from so far back
they should have done that word for Bound then.
but good thinking.
Maybe "8" is the number of names Boone listed off to Olivia, one of them being William Bell.
Maybe, Maybe??
OH! thats a good one!
Eight letters in 'Midnight'. How, exactly, does the title relate to the plot?
WOWOWOW!!! in Bad Dreams the first girl to die (the subway), there was a "7" on the subway train, and on the sign for the clue for next episode- as well the card, 7 of Clubs- 7, next comes 8 (which is the glyphs) and then 9. so maybe its actually something- im gonna re watch the episode now nd try find some 8's hidden
maybe it's because 8 is one of the 'magic' numbers from Lost, just as an easter egg for Abrams fans.
To add to everybody else's comments, eight might be the number of evil powers ZFT has unleashed so far.
It's sometimes hard to classify but this is just my take.
101, Pilot: Dissolving flesh
103, The Ghost Network: Solidifying smoke
107, In Which We Meet Mr. Jones: Toothy zft coded adn bug
109, The Dreamscape: Induced suicidal hallucinations
111, Bound: Super slug cold virus
113, The Transformation: Porcupine dead people
114, Ability: Sealed orifices
118, Midnight: Spinal tap
Also, the eighth labour of Hercules was to master the man-eating Mares of Diomedes.
Okay, I've got this GREAT idea, what if you guys are looking WAY too much into this, and just think. Oh wait, ah ha, it's episode. Goll, Don't think too hard, it may end badly.
The picture of the man Peter and Olivia found by the missing car was shown to Mr. Boone before they found the body. Oops! =)
