That was a beautiful overlook of NYC...
And I can't WAIT for someone to bring up the fact that Obama is president in the "perfect world" (so to speak). I have no problems with stuff like that... but I know people...

I'm not sure I'd describe a world where the Obamas are moving into the new White House as "perfect." What happened to the old one? And why does Barack look so grey at the temples?

I thought it was pretty awesome to have the shot of the Twin Towers. Look at the top left corner of the Post (above the thing about the stock market) Am I losing it or does it say, "Former Pres Kennedy to address UN"

The White House and perhaps the NYSE did not escape the 911 attacks - obviously the WTC (Massive Dynamic) did. The last scene was absolutely chilling.
Could former Pres. Kennedy be referring to John F.? As this is an alternate reality, he may still be alive. Interesting.

That last scene was mind blowing. I wonder how relatives of lost loved ones reacted. I was there when they fell and after that scene I was standing there again a few blocks from the tradgedy. Awesome.

I like the reference but Len Bias would be around 45 today if he hadn't died in 1986.

That final shot reminded me of the end of Planet of the Apes where you see the Statue of Liberty half buried in the sand. I froze on it to see if there wasn't even more that I was missing. Fringe is so good at hiding things in plain site.

Nice to see that Bell prefers the Post over the Times.
When I saw the newspaper, I had to pause to take a look at what it said. This parallel universe has some interesting things going on.

I was shocked when I saw the Twin Towers still standing,I am sure we will get lots of reaction to it, the left hand corner has JFK as former Pres. so he was still alive, the episode was great, can't wait for next Season.

Ted Kennedy? lol in an alternate universe where the WTC still existed, it would have to be JFK. He looks like "Ted Kennedy" because if he was still alive he's be fat with gray hair as well.
It's absolutely JFK. If you look at the HQ cap, you can see it's originally a 60s photo of John and they just altered his hair from brown to white.
And my guess as to why the Obamas are moving into the NEW White House in May is because it wasn't ready by January if it had to be rebuilt.
A universe without Bush? Oh, imagine the possibilities.

Alternate realities were explored in Stargate SG-1 also. Also scientists have published papers about the possibility of alternate realities. So I can see exploring it on Fringe.
Someone questioned where the other William Bell is- what if Walter Bishop & William Bell are the same person in altering realities?
They are moving into the new White House because the old one was hit on 9/11 in that reality, just as the NY Stock Exchange was hit instead of the Twin Towers. And the picture is JFK's face, not Teddy's.
On the other hand, if it was only 21 days that the stock exchange is closed, it can't be that it was hit when the White House was hit...
Does Obama have 2 boys in the photo? It doesn't look like Sasha and Malia to me.

Also notice that the article says stock marketS . So we could assume there's some crisis, or some global scheme.. not just Wall Street. So It doesn't seem like any stock market got hit. And assuming that the white house was hit, or that the 9/11 incident ever happened in the alternate reality is assuming too much =)

From the look of it it seems that the altenrate reality might be a better world altogether.
In last weeks episode Olivia had a deja vu (the alternate reality?) in which it seemed the city was under attack...perhaps the attacks took place at a later date...
Jones will be back from any other alternate reality into this one.

It could take 8 years to rebuild the White House. So it is possible that in that universe the White House was hit on 9/11.
However, they wouldn't close the financial markets to move into new offices after an attack that happened 8 years ago.
The stock market has only been closed 21 days. So the recession is probably worse in that universe than it is in ours.

Actually, my great question: Will Peter know he is from another reality? When? And if so, How he's going to react? And once he has some memories from his childhood, but it seems he can't just recall other parts of it, like he never lived those days before so... could Walter had taken him from AR when he was just born or just before he got ill, managing to cure him before he'd probably get worse?

WOW!!! I believe Mr. Jones might get back in Season 2 because Olivia shot him twice and he didn't die... Plus he told Olivia that he didn't what he was turning into but one thing was that he was getting stronger...

on the elevator i thought i saw the floors jump from 14 to 12. Was there a 13th floor?
Anybody else think we'll see two Walter's in this season. Remember, he did see another version of himself in the asylum. Someone mentioned Bell and Bishop being the same, but I doubt it.

Didn't Peter Bishop die in a car that got into the water, where he imagined the observer took him out? Could be that he was picked up out of this or any other reality after that? His 'real world' body would be in the grave.Which would mean Walter has visited the other side before in person.
Also, it could explain why Peter is smarter, it seems the other reality is more advanced (hence the power of Bells company by using new technologies)
And was Bell Leonard Nimoy, Spock?

Your on to something Anon with Peter...he could be from the other reality.
The 13th floor jump was a reference to the little known movie of the same name which is about alternate realities.
Didn't anyone read the tombstone. It said "Peter Bishop". Obviously it means he died then. Walter probably took Peter from the other reality and build the plugging device so the Walter from the other reality couldn't take him away.
The date (which I think it was 1985) could show us when William Bell and Walter Bishop were together...but I have no idea how that is useful.

im pretty sure theres more than 1 alternate reality, cus in an explanation they said for every choice u make theres a new reality where u went with the opposite of that decision. But that could be right; well atleast for temppraril so when walter was running back with Peter the other walter didnt come through and screw everything up
I'm guessing that Peter died in this reality (tombstone-1985) and Walter brought the Peter from the alternate reality here to "replace" him, possibly for his wife? Maybe he finished the gear for travel to the alternate reality for that reason
I think so Anon...Peter is from another place. Especially since he has a tombstone in the current realty.
