The next episode clue from the Fringe episode Bad Dreams, is the name of the newspaper that published the two headed goat story, the "National Star".In the next episode, Midnight, A star is seen on the door of Cavern - the nightclub where Valerie Boone did her prowling, then again later stamped on the hand of one of the victims. Another potential clue pointing the Star, is the Lady GaGa song heard in the strip club - "Starstruck"

I considered that, but I don't think it's strong enough. "Midnight" is not really referenced at all in the episode, it is just the title, which is meta information.
Another possibility was Nick Lane's "7 of clubs", that could have referred to the "night club" that Boone was stalking.
I think the "National Star" clue is strongest, because Walter specifically asks about the title of the paper when he sees the two-headed goat. The title is visible twice in the episode, and again in "Walter's Lab notes"
Also when the first Victim in the Opening scene is on the phone b4 he enters the club he says "You're starting to go down that road again" when his GF asks where he was the night before. could just be his figure of speech- or it could be one of the many small clues
