The X-Files can be seen in the apartment of Lloyd Parr (Luke Goss) the first person we see killed by the Shape-Shifter.UPDATE: There is also mention of an X-division at Boyles' meeting in Washington:

As i said in the chatroom, "The X Files" episode 604, at 3 minutes 37 seconds.
Good night!
Not to mention the senators mentioning how they've wasted money on both Fringe and "the X division."
Here's the summary of that X-Files episode (604) from IMDB:
Mulder and Scully travel to the secretive Area 51 to meet a contact who has inside information on UFOs. Before they arrive, they get stopped by military personnel who tell them to turn back. A weird event occurs that results in Mulder switching bodies with Morris Fletcher, a "man in black" from Area 51, without anyone else knowing. Mulder takes advantage of this perfect disguise to infiltrate Area 51, while Fletcher uses the opportunity to escape the life he hates.
I LOVE this Show!!
Thanks for posting the X-ep shown. Along with the second mention in the courtroom, it's a nice nod to the Files' influence. :-)
Wasn't the NYC loft guy actually the second (that we know of) victim, the first being the one from the house who's body was in the car that hit Olivia? I'm just trying to keep it straight in my own head, tx.
That's correct, I guess I meant the first victim we saw in the show, but timeline-wise you are correct.
I'm posting the video of the X-division comment now...
The way the senator says "The old X designation" seems to imply that the Fringe Division used to be the X Division.
I loved the episode but have one question. When the shape shifter takes the form of someone via that machine, the body of the person who he assumed the form of is transformed to his prior shape. How then was there a dead Charlie body. His body should have become the Nurse body that they found. This problem needs to be addressed.
No, they keep their form. Only the shape shifter changes, the theory is that the shifter changed to Charlie's body and stashed Charlie's corpse, found the old Nurse's body, and shot that one up, that way it looks like Charlie killed the shifter.
there was another X-files reference at the very end, after bad robot, after the end of the credits, it has that signature x-files sound. i can't describe it - just watch the end of the credits and you'll hear it and immediately recognize it...
if i remember correctly we heard four shots even though the nurse only had two in her chest. the first two are the ones that got peters attention and two more after he turned around. hope that helps, rarpsl.
I noticed the X files referances, and had to rerun the meetings contents a few times.
Rather cheeky :p
Great to have fringe back. x
Okay...the episode of Fringe that aired tonight (Sept 24th)the house looked a lot like the house in the X-files episode "Home". Is it the same set???
I am revealing my nerdiness here..So in episode 202- I kept staring at the Hughes house. It was killing me- I am almost positive its the same house used in the Xfiles episode "Home" (402) as the Peacocks house. Mind you, that was like 13 years ago. Also both episodes did take place in Pennsylvania....

what does the patch on peters jacket say
It's never referred to as "X-division" (where is that even coming from?). It's referred to as "The old X-*designation*.
